Location: Bristol, UK - Hybrid 2+ days in the office per week
Salary: up to £65,000 + 10% company bonus

Simulation Engineer
You will develop exciting new simulation capabilities to enable various Vaarst products and Autonomy. You will be primarily working in C++, employing high-quality software engineering principles and practices, to advance our simulation capabilities to the next level.
Within the simulation team, you will contribute towards the full software development lifecycle, engaging in the design, development, and testing of our simulator. You will have the opportunity to collaborate with experts in the fields of Robotics, Perception, and Machine Learning. Good communication and understanding of the users will be key to ensuring the solution fulfils their needs.

- Scaling and delivering high quality simulation capabilities across Vaarst.
- Designing and building solutions from scratch, to solve complex problems.

- Proven experience working with simulation software
- Proficient in developing production level, clean and modular modern C++
- Strong understanding of software engineering practices, such as automated testing, TDD, CI/CD, Agile, etc
- Ability to design and build systems from scratch, and comfortable working with large codebases
- Familiarity with Linux
Grow together with Vaarst, you may have some knowledge of the following, if you don't these are areas you'll develop in.
- Relevant technologies: Gazebo, ROS or Unreal Engine
- Simulating sensors and physics
- Performance analyses and benchmarking
- 3D graphics and rendering
- Hardware in the Loop (HIL)
- Python
- Working with robotics systems
- Working with 3D and Video data, including mesh and point clouds
- Deploying large scale systems in the cloud

About Vaarst
