We are looking for a Finance Assistant to join our team!
Location: Bristol, UK - Hybrid Remote. 2-3 days per week in the office
Contract: Permanent, full time
Salary: £20,000 - 24,000k if you have all of the right skills & experience we need!

The Role
As a Finance Assistant you will provide high-quality administrative support for the finance team.
Ideally would have a proven background of successfully supporting a business and the management team, have the ability to instantly build trusted relationships and work under pressure in a busy and fast-paced office.
Responsibilities
We work in an exciting and dynamic environment where every day is likely to be a little different but here are some of the main responsibilities you will have in the role:
- Act as the first point of contact for the finance team
- Monitoring the team inbox
- Adding new suppliers to the Xero accounting system
- Inputting invoices onto Xero
- Inputting credit card transactions onto Xero
- Working with colleagues and suppliers to resolve invoice queries
- Checking statements from suppliers and reconcile to Xero
- Assisting with reconciliation of bank accounts and credit cards at month end
- Assisting with weekly payment runs
- Review and input expenses onto Xero
- Assist with month end processes
- General administrative tasks for the team
- Manage or assist with small projects and ad hoc tasks
About you & what you will bring
We’re looking for someone who will make a real impact in this role. If you have these attributes, skills and experiences this could be you:

- Experience working with Xero preferred
- Experience with MS Office programmes including PowerPoint and Word, Excel
- Ability to multitask and prioritise
- Efficient time management and organizational skills

- Excellent English language skills
- Reliable and punctual personality
- Good communication skills and professional telephone manner

- Submit your application with your CV, showcasing your skills and experience against the skills listed in the job advert. There will be a couple of questions on elements that are important to the role.
- A short 20-minute phone screen with our HR partner. We will tell you more about our role, the team and business, and allow us to learn more about you, why you applied, and what you can bring to Vaarst. You’ll have the opportunity to ask any questions you have.
- CCAT Assessment – The Cognitive Criteria Aptitude test will include questions on verbal, numerical and spatial reasoning.
- A 1-hour interview with a couple of members of our team. This part of the process allows you to get a real feel for the work the team is doing and allows us to learn more about your skillsets. In the interview, we will talk about your previous experience. Again, you’ll have the opportunity to ask any questions you have.
- Offer! If you are successful in the process, we will follow up with an offer for the role.
