Full Stack Engineer (TypeScript, Python) – SubSLAM

Location: Bristol, UK

Fulltime / Permanent

Salary: £30,000 - £65,000 per annum

We are looking for a Full Stack Engineer to join our Product Engineering Team!

Vaarst is a deep tech company with artificial intelligence, autonomy and computer vision at the heart of what we do. 

This role will be working to develop new capabilities within the SubSLAM UI and interfacing with new functionality integrated into the camera. The SubSLAM UI interacts with our SubSLAM X2 Camera system, commanding the camera to capture data and feeding back live 3D reconstruction and low latency video in real time. You will work closely with those working on innovative tech in AI, Machine Learning, Computer Vision, and Autonomy.

Responsibilities will include: 

  • Contributing to the complete software development process from conception to deployment.
  • Maintaining and upgrading the software following deployment.
  • Enhancing the end-to-end life cycle of software development.
  • Modifying and testing changes to previously developed programs.
  • Working alongside graphic designers.
  • Ensuring the frontend is useful, suitable, and responsive for Surveyors and ROV pilots.
  • Ensuring the backend interacts with software services embedded in a Camera system.
  • Maintain Documentation.

Additional Experience (desirable but not essential):

  • ROS
  • Cypress
  • Electron
  • UI/UX
  • Experience in working with 3D/Video data including mesh and point cloud.
  • C++
  • Knowledge of Computer Vision Techniques, SLAM, OpenCV, PCL.
